Milan’s Jaydon Peete named Class 2A Mr. Football semifinalist
On Thursday morning, the TSSAA released the five semifinalists for the Tennessee Titans
Mr. Football awards, and Milan junior Jaydon Peete is one of the five semifinalists for the Class 2A award.
Peete is joined by Huntingdon’s Gray Eubanks, Fairley’s Andrew Johnson, Marion County’s Samuel Pickett and East Robertson’s Kason Young as semifinalists.
Peete has helped Milan to a 9-1 regular season and the Region 6-2A title, along with the No. 1 ranking in the TSWA Class 2A poll along with Fairley.
During the regular season, Peete has rushed for 1,675 yards and 23 touchdowns on 132 carries, which is 12.7 yards per carry. He caught eight passes for 214 yards and three touchdowns, which is 26.8 yards per catch.
Defensively, Peete has 63 tackles with 12 tackles for loss, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.
The Tennessee Titans Mr. Football award is a regular season award that was voted on by a selection committee of sportswriters from across the state.
The list of candidates will be narrowed down to three finalists on Nov. 26 on the Tennessee Titans radio show. Those three finalists will be invited to Nissan Stadium on Dec. 10 for a luncheon, and the winner of the award will be announced then.
